Exporting S/MIME certificates automatically to a directory
By default, the iQ.Suite Crypt Key Import Job writes S/MIME certificates to the file certs.db. These certificates can also be exported into a directory, providing an easy way to examine the properties of these certificates. This is how it’s done:
Step by Step:
- The relevant S/MIME Crypt Engine is enhanced to enable the additional automatic export of imported S/MIME certificates.
- To do this, go to Basic Configuration -> Utility Settings -> Crypt Engines. First create a back-up copy of the S/MIME Crypt Engine currently in use.
- Now edit the relevant Crypt Engine.
- Click on the "S/MIME Options" tab.

- Enter this extra information in the "Parameters" field: "—exporttodir=c:/directoryname“. The directory specified should already have been created.
- Once the configuration has been saved, the imported S/MIME certificates will also be exported into the C:/Certs directory as .cer files.

- Double click on the .cer files to see the certificate properties.
