2. iQ.Suite Convert is on its way - your opinion counts!
GROUP is working on a new module - iQ.Suite Convert - to be released in the first half of 2011. It is designed to provide the possibility to convert all attachments of an email centrally to either PDF, TIFF or ZIP. This is to avoid sending the original documents while saving disk space and reducing network load.
As it is our goal to align our solutions to the needs of our customers and partners, we are highly interested in finding out your opinion. Please spare a few minutes of your time and follow the link below to answer seven short questions: www.group-technologies.com/convert-en
Among all participants we will draw one lucky winner of the official FIFA World Cup 2010 football, worth 120 €. This should be ideal to tune in to the World Cup or get actively involved yourself. The winner will be notified by email and announced in the next newsletter. The closing date is 30 June 2010.
(Employees of GROUP and its partner companies are excluded from the draw)
3. GROUP Workshops in June and July
In June and July, we offer a number of - very compact, clearly structured and practice-oriented - webinars and workshops which should leave no questions unanswered concerning email archiving and email encryption.
For Lotus Notes Domino users, we will demonstrate how iQ.Suite Bridge and iQ.Suite Store can be used for revision-proof archiving while reducing the size of email files. In July you can find out more about encryption in general and cryptographic methods and our iQ,Suite WebCrypt encryption solution in particular. In addition, both June and July feature workshops on iQ.Suite Wall and iQ.Suite Watchdog.
Also in July, as mentioned before in this newsletter under iQ.Suite Easy Update - Summer Special 2010, we will hold a number of "What's New Webinars" that provide comprehensive information on the new iQ.Suite features, for all email platforms.

4. iQ.Suite Tips and Tricks for Lotus Domino: Setup of iQ.Suite Trailer for Department-Specific need
iQ.Suite Trailer helps you meet the legal requirements regarding email correspondence. Ensuring a consistent appearance of the company, the software allows to integrate individual and even multilingual text blocks, for a freely configurable period of time and to all or specific recipients. The iQ.Suite Trailer functionalities include both the selection of individual text blocks for different user groups and combining multiple trailers within an email.
For instance, you can use a formula rule to check whether the sender of an email belongs to a specific department. To find out a trick for setting up department-specific trailers while using the public address book (names.nsf) as data source, read here.
5. Exchange/SMTP Corner: Using iQ.Suite Trailer to integrate images as logos into emails
In its most recent version, iQ.Suite Trailer features the option to integrate images into the email signature. This allows to integrate both static and dynamic information in a meaningful way and provides the user with a means to freely use either centrally managed or individually designed email signatures.
The user signatures added to a company´s outgoing emails need to follow a recognizable pattern. A uniform letterhead format including the company logo, the exact company name, the name of the CEO or Managing Director or references to commercial register entries – all these are standard elements of a consistent and legally compliant corporate design.
With the current iQ.Suite version, it is now possible to integrate image files as embedded elements into emails, e.g. in GIF or JPG format. For details on how this works with iQ.Suite for Exchange/SMTP, read the following.
6. iQ.Suite Wall image analyzer discontinued
It is our philosophy to provide our customers with high-quality solutions designed to reduce the need for administrator intervention to a bare minimum. Unfortunately, past experience has shown that, due to a rather low recognition rate, the Image Analyzer in iQ.Suite Wall did not meet the standards of this philosophy. We have therefore decided to discontinue the Image Analyzer.
Here are a few examples to illustrate this:
- Portrait images were frequently wrongly identified as pornographic.
- Such false positives resulted in increased administrative work for the customer.
- The rate of false negatives was too high as well.
- In the cases described, either an administrator had to review the quarantines or the end users had to work very intensively with the quarantine to obtain all of the information.
