1. GROUP Business Software at UKLUG in Edinburgh and Storage Expo in London

This year’s autumn was all about two major events, namely UKLUG and Storage Expo in the UK. Under the slogan "Think Lotus - Think GROUP", GROUP Business Software and GEDYS Intraware (UKLUG platinum sponsors) both presented solutions at the events as well as enjoying a specialist lecture. Visitors to the joint booth gained first-hand experience in email management and were introduced to CRM 360º. The solutions presented by the Email business unit in the area of confidential email communication using iQ.Suite WebCrypt generated particular interest. iQ.Suite ClientAdmin - the universal client management solution for complex Lotus Notes environments - met with a positive response too.

Another highlight on this year’s events agenda was Storage Expo, held in London on 14-15 October. This was the second time that GROUP Business Software had taken the opportunity to discuss information management and storage issues with existing and prospective customers. The many specialists visiting the stand showed great interest in the GROUP solutions for legally compliant, efficient email management. "Email archiving is fast becoming a key business driver. Many companies are feeling the need to find appropriate solutions to tackle the increasing technological, organisational and legal demands with which they are faced," emphasises Andreas Richter, Director of International Marketing at GROUP Business Software.

The live demonstrations at the GROUP booth, where visitors received an initial impression of the iQ.Suite email management solution, proved especially popular. Particular attention was paid to the seamless and efficient management of ever-increasing email volumes. On day 2 of the fair, GROUP captivated the auditorium with a specialist lecture entitled "Legally compliant email archiving". The close interaction between aspects such as load reduction, protection against tampering and retrieval of archived emails was very interesting to the audience.

2. GROUP training schedule for November and December

Time and expense invested in concise, practical training courses is well worthwhile. Trained employees get their work done professionally and efficiently, while bringing fresh ideas to the company. Why not take this opportunity?

One of our courses is on the topic of data loss prevention. After taking part, we guarantee that you will know how to deploy iQ.Suite in order to counteract industrial espionage and prevent the loss of confidential data in your email traffic.

Our Lotus Notes training courses include IBM’s Lotus Sametime. This course provides an introduction to the installation and administration of IBM’s Lotus Sametime. No questions will remain unanswered - you will learn about everything from installation via configuration all the way to monitoring and user management.

You should also make a note of the Exchange/SMTP course on email archiving using iQ.Suite Bridge and iQ.Suite Store. Practical exercises will play a major role in teaching you everything there is to know about these two high-performance solutions, their close interaction, and how to implement a universal archiving process.

Attached is an overview of some of our courses:

3. iQ.Suite Tips and Tricks for Lotus Domino: processing a signed email

Digital signatures are an important means of verifying an email’s authenticity. Recipients of signed emails are, however, notified if a message processed by iQ.Suite has been tampered.

In order to ensure that an email with a digital signature arrives without a tamper message, certain important criteria must be observed when using iQ.Suite.

Read about a simple way of providing in-house emails with the digital signature of the executing Domino server in the latest issue of our Tips and Tricks.

4. Exchange/SMTP corner: rule-based processing of password-protected archive files

Up to now, all password-protected archive files in iQ.Suite Exchange/SMTP have always been transferred to iQ.Suite’s badmail quarantine, and a message sent to the iQ.Suite administrator. With iQ.Suite 8 Exchange/SMTP, password-protected archive files can now be incorporated into the standard iQ.Suite rule set. This means that all iQ.Suite actions are available when files of this nature are identified.

With the aid of this new job type in iQ.Suite 8 Exchange/SMTP, files can be forwarded directly to the recipient and processed using a rule-based methodology. It is, of course, possible to authorise these files for use by certain users/groups and block them for others.

Read here how to go about this and which particular aspects have to be observed.
