1. News from IQ.Suite: 64bit support for Domino 8.0.x under Windows 2003 and a new version of
     iQ.Suite Store for Microsoft Exchange

64bit systems are becoming increasingly important. In line with this development, we would like to present iQ.Suite 12 under Lotus Domino. This release offers the first 64 bit support for Domino 8.0.x under Windows 2003. The new platform support is another important stage in GROUP's corporate strategy.

We are pleased to announce that, as usual, the new version has been available in the Download area since the beginning of April.

As announced, GROUP Technologies released a new version of iQ.Suite Store for Microsoft Exchange at the end of the first quarter of 2009. The new release of iQ.Suite Store 4.1.0 is available as of now from your GROUP Technologies sales partner.

2. CeBIT 2009: A successful event for GROUP Business Software AG

Even though the effects of the current financial crisis are inescapable, many companies are looking at innovative and cost-efficient solutions. Against this backdrop, CeBIT 2009 ended on a high note for GROUP. Many companies have recognised that rushed attempts to economise represent a step in the wrong direction. In fact, they need to invest in the right places, which will allow them to emerge stronger from the crisis and take up a position from which to enjoy success in the future.

This view was borne out by the lively interest shown in the GROUP Business Software AG stand at CEBIT this year, where GROUP Technologies and GEDYS IntraWare presented their products and services.
Talks by GROUP experts on the latest developments in cost-efficient email management and CRM were very well received by over 800 visitors. "The new 'Think Lotus - Think GROUP!' approach met with a very positive response and highlighted our expertise as a provider of business applications and services for all aspects of the Lotus Notes/Domino platform," said Andreas Richter, Director of International Marketing at GROUP Technologies.

The email experts focused on the legal issues involved in email archiving, email encryption and Notes client management. "Although many companies are currently experiencing problems, interest in central and secure email processes remains unaffected. Cost-efficiency has become another point that is now attracting a lot of attention. Particularly in this respect, we noticed considerable demand which we can easily meet with our solutions and services for email management and Notes client management," explains Herbert Reder, Managing Director at GROUP Technologies.

3. Email assessment - the range of services for greater transparency and better security

Calculating the costs and risks for complex email processes is proving increasingly difficult. It is important not to lose sight of the overall problem - not just in purely technical terms but also the legal and organisational requirements regarding email productivity, email security and email archiving. The ultimate aim is to know your company's email infrastructure.

GROUP Technologies offers you precisely such a comprehensive overview with its Email Assessment Service. With this special service, email experts analyse each customer's individual situation and offer specific recommendations and products to optimise their existing email solutions.

Using our professional Email Assessment Service will benefit you in a whole series of ways:

The GROUP email assessment is the reliable route to more transparent and secure email processes. We look forward to receiving your enquiries.

4. Exchange/SMTP Corner: Blocking emails with a faked sender

Distributors of spam are inventive and crafty, using a whole raft of techniques to avoid anti-spam solutions. One of these is using SMTP sender addresses from the recipient's domain. This means that it is possible for you to receive an email which contains an internal sender address via SMTP, but which has nevertheless been sent from outside. However, unfortunately for the spammers and fortunately for us, only an email that originates on your email server contains a unique message ID with the name of that mail server. A spam mail does not contain this information.

This is where GROUP Technologies' solution iQ.Suite Wall comes in: it can easily detect and eliminate these emails. Using a combination of different analytical procedures iQ.Suite Wall protects users and the corporate infrastructure from spam.

Read here how to go about this and what you should take account of.
